Description
Colorado has been one of the leaders in elections in a number of years. The right to vote is the foundational expression of having voice in how we're governed. It is basically the heart of American democracy, so it means everything. The work that Colorado is doing on risk-limiting audits is critically important to the elections community across the United States. Risk-limiting audits are important because we can conduct a post-election audit that gives a statistical level of confidence that the outcome of the election is correct. Several people including Wayne Williams, Colorado Secretary of State discusses methodology of the audit process and several statisticians discuss how risk-limiting audits work to check that the results of elections aren't tampered with.
