Description
Well-known financial speculator Soros argues that the United States can lose its dominant global position only through its own mistakes, mistakes that George W. Bush seems intent on committing under the cover of a hijacked September 11th. After some specific criticisms of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, he looks at domestic matters, finding the Bush administration's domestic activities just as horrifying. In the second half of the book, he proposes an alternative, based on his earlier advocacy for the "open society" and a multilateral world defined by a softer form of American supremacy.
