"Meet Freddie Freak Trujillo -- A Man of the 1970s Chicano Movement Days in Boulder, Colorado. He is a self-made man who pulled himself out of a pit of addiction to alcohol and prescribed barbiturates to participate in many of the historic moments of the times. His book, told in his own colloquial voice, describes his family, the choices he made, the learning he pursued in media and the way he was able to collect print, audio, and video materials of some of the key players in the Chicano Movement from San Francisco to LA to Boulder. The Freddie Freak story is funny, nostalgic and sometimes dark. At age 80, he still does a radio show, participates in protests and demonstrations, and speaks on the Chicano Movement. Many of his collected materials have been taken in by the CSU-Pueblo Chicano Archives."
