Description
The legislation addressed consumer concerns regarding out-of-network doctors and ancillary service providers who worked at in-network facilities, and billed patients for any amount not paid by the patient's managed care plan. The out-of-network provider would "balance bill" the consumer for any charges not reimbursed by the managed care plan.
